help me choose the right sewing machine?
I own a singer 5050c, but it's in the shop and its going to cost 120 dollars to get it back. Should i get it or should i just buy a new machine? I am a fashion designer and my perfect dream machine would be easy to use, last a lifetime with proper care, be able to stitch through heavy duty fabric like multi layers of denim and peacoat wool, have a variety of stitch functions, should be able to make clean neat button holes easily, and preferably electronic, but im not against manual. Please include model numbers if i should get a new machine, or should i stick with my singer?
i also already own a kenmore blue mini ultra and a Brother LS2125I
Singer hasn't been the company it was since the 1970s. I'd suggest, if your need is for production sewing, that you need an industrial machine, and perhaps use a home machine for a buttonholer (though you probably need a buttonholer, too.)
You void the warranty when using home machines in business.
The new industrials are so much easier to sew on than the old clutch machines that had a tendency to have two speeds: flat out and stop.
