How to change thread on a Serger/Interlock

How much is a Bernina fun lock 007D Deluxe Overlocker Sewing machine worth by Bernette?
Hello,
I have been asked to sell the above sewing machine on behalf of a friend. I don't really want to put it on ebay.
Does anyone know how much one would cost new and second hand in perfect condition? (£). I've been told there quite expensive.
Where would be the best place to advertise to sell?
Please see the link below to see the machine

They also have a Elna 3005 if you could help with that.
An easy 10 points will be given to someone who knows there sewing machines!
It's a 3/4 thread serger with differential, probably made by Juki for Bernina (I'm not positive) and they were about $700 new 10 years ago. Sergers do not tend to hold their value well, and they're more subject to wear and tear than a conventional sewing machine. A similar Juki Machine now, new, would be about $400 new now; a similar Brother about $250.
In the last 10 years, 3/4 thread machines have become the ground floor of serging models, with new machines handling 2-5 threads and capable of doing a larger number of stitches a 3/4 thread machine can. If the machine has been lightly used and is in good condition, you might be able to get a couple of hundred for it. Obviously, I'm in the US, so you need to adjust for UK market conditions.
The Elna 3005 had a street price of about $500-$600 here, and is a basic mechanical machine with a 1 step buttonholer (some folks seem to have complained about them on the reviews at http://www.patternreview.com) with needle up/down functions and apparently a speed range control. I have not sewn on this machine, but my guess is that it would be a good no-nonsense machine for a beginner to intermediate sewing level, especially for someone who wants a fully mechanical machine.
Mechanical vs. electronic machines is an interesting debate... mechanicals can potentially be sewing in the next century if properly taken care of and serviced, and if you're handy, you can do most of the service work yourself. At least here, the basic "tuneup" for a mechanical machine tends to be about $50 less than the tuneup for an electronic or computerized machine. On the other hand, an electronic machine, while it'll go casters up within 50 years most likely, tends to have stepper or servo motors that give you full punching force of the needle even at very slow speeds, while mechanical machines often stall at slow speeds. And my experience with mechanical machines 1 step buttonholes tends to make me prefer the electronic machines' 1 step buttonholes -- just easier to tweak. In perfect condition, I'd expect a used pricetag at a dealer here of about $200, and a private sale of about $100.
