I have a question about my 40 year old Elna sewing machine bought in 1969. , V/NV/21 Type: 21cF347986?
It is a white machine a gray cap. Would it be possible for me to buy a walking foot and quilting guide for this machine? This machine has always worked fine for me but lately the band has begun to fall (at least that's what I think it is) The complaint and going nowhere. Can you solve this problem I think? As coach of the sewing machine I can say without doubt you can get a walking foot (general) for your machine, just remember walking down a reed feet this kind of important that the feet with foot walking feeddogs matches (the part under the needle that moves the fabric) on the machine. I imagine an Elna SU. It also guides quilting are pretty generic. As to your belt, it's probably has some oil on it or need to set more stringent. You can do this by removing the cover over the tape, clean the belt and pulley good all the oil (Q-tip with alcohol). Then find the way adjustment. It is likely that loosen the screw and move the pulley and tighten slightly. The drive belt is likely to be adjusted by loosening the motor and move it around a bit until the belt is narrower and tighten down the motor. Very tight, but can lead to too much stress on the engine so you only get good enough to work well. Some have a eccentric nut or bolt (rectangular) that became strained when the belt. Good luck.
