Adjusting Needle Position on Sewing Machine?
I just picked up an old vintage Dressmaker zigzag sewing machine and the needle position is too far to the left, is there a way of explaining to me which part to adjust to make the needle stay further right as it comes down? It has been hitting the plate, otherwise it works great!
Sounds like you've got a bent needle, or the machine is out of time.
Try replacing with a brand new needle, fresh out of the package. If that doesn't cure it, it needs a trip to the shop. It may not be repairable for a reasonable sum if the needlebar (as opposed to the needle) is bent.
