Which would be the better beginner machine for sewing cloth diapers?
I'm torn between two machines. The Brother XL3750 Convertible Free Arm Sewing Machine, and the Hello Kitty Three-Quarter Size Sewing Machine w/4 Step Buttonhole, which is just a normal Janome with stickers on it, not a toy. I have never touched a sewing machine before so will be a super beginner. The first link is the Brother, the second the Janome.

My only worry is that the Hello Kitty one wont be able to handle all the layers of fabric diapers need. Is there another Janome model in the $100-$200ish range that would be better?
Since you have never touched a sewing machine before it would be a good idea to purchase one where the staff can show you how it operates and then let you try the machine.
This would be a sewing machine dealer and not a fabric or department store where sewing machines are just another piece of merchandise.
Take your diaper fabric with you and tell them what you plan on making. They will help you find the right brand and model for your need.
Visit as many dealers as you can and you will find all the machines will and handle the project you have in mind. Buy from the dealer you like the best.
Sewing machine dealers can help you if you have a problem or question. Most have lessons and classes. You want someone you can rely on for assistance as well as service so the machine does not have to be sent out - all sewing machines need routine service once a year or so, depending on the amount of use.
