How can Coats and Clark thred be stopped from breaking on a Brother?
Brand new to this, new Brother Innovis 1200 I bought "lots" of thread at a JoAnn's sale then read on a message broad that this machine can not use Coats and Clark, it breaks. What to do- buy better needles, adjust machine, return the deal.

Are you referring to embroidery or sewing?
I am guessing embroidery.
Be sure the thread is not catching on the lid of the spool or wrapping around the spool pin if it is a horizontal pin.
A thread stand works very well and you can have many spools at the ready to put on the machine.
People get into their heads that their machine does not like this or that brand. Brother makes a great machine and not a picky child.
I have used C&C for years and continue to do so with both sewing and embroidery.
The only problem I have is with black embroidery thread - for that I use Maderia brand.
Give the thread another chance - watch the feed from the spool.
If you are still having a problem take the thread back and get Sulky.
